W ow! W ow! The dust is only just settling for WP 2.5, and WP 2.6 is upon us. Støvet er kun afregning for WP 2.5 og WP 2.6 er på os. I know that quite a few of my customers haven’t yet upgraded to WP 2.5 - but I need to keep abreast of the changes due to the fact that new installations on web hosts use the latest available WordPress version. Jeg ved, at en hel del af mine kunder endnu ikke har opgraderet til WP 2.5 - men jeg er nødt til at holde sig ajour med de ændringer som følge af, at nye anlæg på web vært bruge de seneste tilgængelige WordPress version.

I set up a test website with WP 2.6 Beta2 to establish whether there are going to be any nasty surprises for RapidNicheWebsites users when they upgrade. Jeg oprette en test webside med WP 2.6 Beta2 at fastslå, om der bliver nogen ubehagelige overraskelser for RapidNicheWebsites brugere, når de opgradere. I did a quick manual install, and then ran a full RNW upload - all the plugins, and every WP Option set. Jeg gjorde en hurtig manuel installere, og derefter kørte en fuld RNW upload - alle plugins, og hver WP Valgmulighed sæt. The RNW Install ran with no errors, and the new theme was correctly selected at the end of the process. Den RNW Installer løb uden fejl, og det nye tema var korrekt udvalgt i slutningen af processen. Things were looking pretty good! Tingene ledte pretty good!

So - the initial impressions are that the upgrade is far less traumatic thant WP 2.5. Så - det første indtryk er, at opgraderingen er langt mindre traumatisk thant WP 2.5. I did get one error generated by a plugin - the Organiser plugin - but that is not a mainstream plugin for most RNW users. Jeg har få en fejl ved hjælp af et plugin - Arrangøren plugin - men det er ikke en mainstream plugin for de fleste RNW brugere. What I also see is that some of the auto-install options that RapidFormatter sets are not being applied. Hvad jeg også ser, er, at nogle af de auto-install valgmuligheder, RapidFormatter sæt som ikke anvendes.

Preliminary testing seems to indicate that: Indledende forsøg tyder på, at:

• Almost all of the plugins are OK (just Organiser), Næsten alle de plugins er OK (bare Planlægning),
• The widgets are also OK, and Den widgets er også OK, og
• The setting of the WordPress options is the area that I need to focus on. Den indstilling af WordPress valgmuligheder er det område, at jeg er nødt til at fokusere på. This is almost trivial in comparison to the massive number of changes that I had to make for WP 2.5. Det er næsten en bagatel i forhold til det massive antal ændringer, som jeg måtte gøre for WP 2.5.

This is a welcome relief, and hopefully only going take less than a day to investigate and update,  I am allowed to be an optimist …! Dette er en kærkommen lettelse, og forhåbentlig kun vil tage mindre end et døgn til at undersøge og opdatering, jeg lov til at være optimist ...!
