WordPress

In March 2005, when I read this short note by Allen Says, little did I think I would generate a business out of the concept:

Killer Method of Creating Niche Sites
The Search Engines Love!

This is an incredibly powerful strategy that is being virtually overlooked. Most don’t realize that blog software is perfect for building actual sites.

Allen Says

At that stage I was building sites using a code generator - but was finding it pain - especially the updating of the menu structure each time I was adding a new page. I initially didn’t think much of Allen’s suggestion, understandable when you look at the standard blue WordPress theme, but when I found some sites with smart customised theme, I realised the potential of WordPress.

I briefly looked at both Joomla and Drupal, but decided to focus on WordPress, due to its easy install, and equally easy customisation. So far, there have no regrets …

WordPress 2.5 - Initially I Didn’t Like It …

When I first loaded WordPress 25RC1 a couple of weeks ago, I wasn’t that impressed with what I saw.

They’re simply snippets of code that run a specific WordPress function or plugin. So you can choose the [...]

Why WordPress Is A Killer Application

WordPress was created in 2003 - starting with a few users, and only some basic web publishing capabilities. For a while it ‘lurked’ in the shadows of more established publishing tools. But then in 2005 it started emerging as a preferred blogging tool. Just over 3 years after launch, and things are very different. During [...]

WordPress - Application of the Year

In the January edition of the Affiliate Classroom’s monthly journal, Mark Thompson nominated WordPress as the application of the year.
He wrote:
In a year with so many great products it hasn’t been easy choosing a product of the year. But in spite of all the powerful products released in what has undoubtedly been a vintage year, [...]
